GitHub Pages (recommended)

1 — Run the indexer

shell
npx pagefind --site .

2 — Create a GitHub repository

Go to github.com/new. Set visibility to Public. Click Create repository.

3 — Upload your files

Click uploading an existing file. Drag all files from globaldocs-atlas/ — including the pagefind/ folder — into the upload area. Make sure index.html is at the root level. Commit.

4 — Enable GitHub Pages

Go to Settings → Pages. Source: Deploy from a branch. Branch: main, folder: / (root). Save.

5 — Your site is live

After ~60 seconds, your site is live at https://yourusername.github.io/your-repo.

To update: edit your HTML, re-run npx pagefind --site ., then upload changed files and the updated pagefind/ folder. GitHub Pages redeploys automatically.

Netlify (drag and drop)

  1. Run npx pagefind --site .
  2. Go to app.netlify.com/drop
  3. Drag the entire globaldocs-atlas/ folder onto the drop zone
  4. Create a Netlify account to claim the site and rename the subdomain

Custom domain

Both GitHub Pages and Netlify support custom domains for free. Add your domain in the host's settings, create a CNAME DNS record, and HTTPS is provisioned automatically. All links are relative filenames, so the site works at any domain without changes.
